Fourteen days before a service expires, SprintCDN creates a renewal invoice and lists it under **Invoices** in the portal sidebar. You also get a reminder email — \"Your service renews in 14 days\" — with a **Pay renewal invoice** button, and further reminders 7 days and 3 days before the date.\n\nPaying the invoice extends the service by one full billing cycle. You can pay it manually by card or cryptocurrency — see [Invoices, VAT and how to pay](/kb/invoices-vat-payment) — or let a saved card handle it for you.\n\n![A renewal invoice waiting in the Invoices list — click Pay to settle it](/assets/kb/billing/invoices.png)\n\n# Save a card for automatic renewal\n\nWith a default saved card on file, renewal invoices are charged automatically — you do not need to do anything, and the invoice switches to Paid once the charge succeeds.\n\n1. In the portal sidebar, click **Payments**.\n2. Scroll to the **Saved cards** panel at the bottom of the page.\n3. Click **Add card** and enter your card details.\n4. If you keep several cards, click **Make default** on the one we should charge — the active card shows a **Default** badge.\n\nEach saved card is listed by brand and last four digits (for example \"visa •••• 4242\") together with its expiry date. Use the trash icon to remove a card you no longer want on file.\n\n![The Payments page with auto top-up controls and the Saved cards panel — one card is marked Default](/assets/kb/billing/saved-cards.png)\n\nA saved card also powers auto top-up for hourly services — see [Account balance and top-ups](/kb/account-balance-topup). If the **Saved cards** panel is not visible, card payments are currently unavailable on your account; pay each renewal invoice manually instead.\n\n# If a renewal goes unpaid\n\nIf the renewal invoice is still unpaid when the service expires, the service is suspended — it stops working, but it is not gone yet. Paying the renewal invoice at this point reactivates the service automatically.\n\nIf the invoice remains unpaid after the suspension, the service is eventually removed for good.\n\n\u003e Once a suspended service is removed, its data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If you want to keep the service, pay the renewal invoice while it is suspended; if you do not, back up your data before the expiry date.\n\n# Cancel a service you no longer need\n\nCancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — the service keeps running until that date and then does not renew.\n\n1. Open the service from **Servers** in the portal sidebar.\n2. Go to the **Settings** tab (on cloud servers, the **Management** tab).\n3. In the **Cancellation** card, click **Cancel at period end**.\n4. Confirm with **Yes, cancel renewal**, or choose **Keep service** to back out.\n\nThe card then shows a **Cancels at period end** badge, and any unpaid renewal invoice is voided automatically. Changed your mind? Click **Resume renewals** any time before the end date and the service carries on as normal.\n\nWhen the paid period ends, the cancelled service is deactivated and everything stored on it is permanently deleted — download anything you need before that date.\n\nHourly Cloud Instances work differently: there is no renewal to cancel. Billing stops when you delete the instance — click **Delete instance** on the **Management** tab, and you are charged only for the current partial hour. See [How hourly billing works](/kb/hourly-billing).\n\nIf you have a question about a renewal charge or a cancellation, open a ticket from **Tickets** in the portal.","status":"published","position":3,"createdAt":"2026-07-15T11:11:28Z","updatedAt":"2026-07-15T11:11:28Z"},"related":[{"id":"e7477cea8f684bf50aa79d7334242269","categorySlug":"billing-account","slug":"invoices-vat-payment","title":"Invoices, VAT and how to pay","excerpt":"Find and download your invoices, understand the VAT line, apply a coupon, and pay by card or cryptocurrency — or arrange a bank transfer with our billing team.","position":1,"status":"published"},{"id":"e3b6b6fac6582c970ac7c7b1833b13c7","categorySlug":"billing-account","slug":"account-balance-topup","title":"Account balance and top-ups","excerpt":"Add funds to your SprintCDN account balance, set up automatic top-ups from a saved card, and see exactly what your balance pays for.","position":2,"status":"published"},{"id":"943d5e69ef5a702c19c64a675d6dce24","categorySlug":"billing-account","slug":"hourly-billing","title":"How hourly billing works","excerpt":"Understand how hourly Cloud Instances are metered, where every per-hour charge appears, and how to keep your balance funded so instances keep running.","position":4,"status":"published"},{"id":"161f47cd922f1a8ced3fd6324f82bb34","categorySlug":"billing-account","slug":"affiliate-program","title":"Earn with the affiliate program","excerpt":"Join the SprintCDN partner program, share your referral code, track tiered commissions and turn earnings into account credit or a payout.","position":5,"status":"published"}]}
